Achates Philanthropy is a fundraising consultancy firm who believe that cultural philanthropy is at a standstill in Britain even though the fundraising climate is becoming ever more competitive and the charitable status of most arts organisations still isn’t understood by the wider public.
This is why they’ve launched The Achates Philanthropy Prize, which will be presented at this year’s Spektrix Conference.
The prize is to encourage cultural organisations to engage with first-time donors of all levels of ift. Achates Philanthropy want to celebrate and share the stories behind the development of a new generation of philanthropists. Unlike other philanthropy awards, the prize will be given to an individual or trust, nominated by a UK cultural organisation for the example they have set in supporting culture philanthropically for the first time. The winner will receive the award, which has been commissioned from renowned sculptor, Pete Brooke-Ball, and of which they will be custodian for a year. The nominating cultural organisation will receive a £5,000 donation from Achates Philanthropy. Find out more about the award here.
